The Academy of Innovative Woodworking, Inc. (our legal name), and it's president, James C. Hopp would like to thank you for visiting our site. We are located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and look forward to serving your needs.
IN BUSINESS TO SERVE YOU SINCE 1993 WITH ALMOST 500 HEADSTOCKS REPAIRED
We are an Authorized Shopsmith repair and service center. We maintain a full stock of factory new service parts for the Shopsmith headstock (but not of accessories), have the necessary service tools, and have many years of experience. We can overhaul your Shopsmith MARK V headstock to like new condition for a fraction of the cost of purchasing a new one. We can set the speed accurately with electronic timing instruments, set belt tension with torque wrench and correctly set the range and smoothness of the speed dial. We also can provide Shopsmith Service on most other Shopsmith equipment. AT THIS TIME WE ARE NOT HOLDING WOODWORKING CLASSES!
Currently we are only doing REPAIR SERVICE on most SHOPSMITH machines. This includes the MARK V headstock, Planers, Band Saw, Jointers, and other Shopsmith equiptment. Call or eMail me if you have questions about a specific machine not listed here. Our current turn-around time is one to two weeks unless you have an urgent repair. If that is the case simply let me know you need a fast turn around and we can get your headstock completed in as little as one business day. You can also pay with PayPal (they also accept Credit Cards) so that your machine can be returned as quickly as possible. Of course you understand this assumes we have the necessary parts on hand. We use Genuine Shopsmith Factory New Parts. On occation we may have some good used parts that you may purchase to complete a repair instead of waiting for a part order to come in.
We added "Innovative" to our name, because of the ability the Lord has given me to come up with some highly creative solutions for woodworking problems over the years. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful God given skills, and would love to share some of my stories with you. If you are ever in the Raleigh, NC area be sure to stop by for a visit. I am a retired IBM'er and can take time out of my not so busy schedule to spend a few moments with you.
